SBA Lending Data to Minority-owned Businesses

The following charts highlight data trends of the SBA 7(a) program and the Community Advantage Program from fiscal years 2016 to 2024.

While CA and 7(a) lending declined between FY2020 and FY2022 as many small business owners turned to state and federal pandemic relief programs, such as PPP, to survive, today’s entrepreneurs are ready to access the next level of growth capital. Since 2022, 7(a) lending has rebounded—especially in low-income communities—but CA lenders continue to lead the way in reaching historically underserved startup, new, veteran, and rural-owned small businesses, providing not just capital, but a path to long-term stability and bankability.
